Unable to install latest Service Pack on HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus
I'm trying to install the latest Service Pack on my HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus, as I'm not running a distro using RPM as package manager I am limited to use the offline installer.
I have tried to boot mulitple times the Service Pack ISO (and confirmed its hash with the one on the donwload page), however interactive mode does not work and always fails with the following message:
Starting initrd...
Warning!! Unable to mount the file system [cdrom]
Warning!! Unable to mount the file system
Preboot maintenance mode
/bin/ash: can't access tty; job control turned off
#
I am trying to boot the ISO off a USB drive as I have no iLO on this machine, I have tried 2 different USB drives (Kingston and Sandisk) and tried writing them with different tools too (Rufus, BalenaEtcher, and dd).
Any suggestions on what could be the problem here?

Re: Query: Unable to install latest Service Pack on HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus -
Thanks for the link but I'm not sure it applies to the problem I'm facing as there is nothing relevant to it inside.
It's clearly not a hardware problem with the server as I can boot the image off the USB and get to the choice of automatic or interactive upgrade.

Re: Unable to install latest Service Pack on HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus
Hello,
You may refer to section "Enabling or disabling USB Boot Support" on page 53 of the UEFI System Utilities User Guide for HPE ProLiant Gen10,
ProLiant Gen10 Plus Servers, and HPE Synergy and verify if the server is configured to boot from USB devices connected to the server.
Regards,

Re: Query: Unable to install latest Service Pack on HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus -
Greetings!
I understand that you are trying to run Gen10 Service Pack for ProLiant Version 2023.09.00.00 on your server.
Kindly utilize the "HPE USB Key Utility for Windows" to transfer the SPP ISO onto a USB stick and verify the outcome.

Re: Query: Unable to install latest Service Pack on HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus -
@BPSingh Thanks for the feedback.
While I can install the tool without issues, it won't pick up any USB device on my machine (even if ran with Administrator privileges).
The USB devices work normally and show up correctly in Windows Explorer.

Re: Query: Unable to install latest Service Pack on HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus -
Greetings!
Can you confirm whether you have attempted the process with a smaller USB thumb drive, such as a 16GB one?
If the problem persists, could you try using an external CD/DVD drive and see if that resolves the issue?
