Unable to update E208p controller card

Hi all,

We have a DL380 Gen10 with that card E208e-p connected to some D3600 cabinets that we are trying to update.  Card is in 5.00 firmware version so we are trying to update it with linux version of 5.32 to be able to upgrade it to newer versions using FWPKG files via iLO but flash is failing as per this report attached.

What could we do to update correctly this card?

Greetings!

Please use SPP in offline mode to update the controller firmware to your desired version.

Re: Unable to update E208p controller card

@BPSingh

Thanks we will try.

I have other question, as this controller doesn't have memory cache drive firmware update has to be done offline too?

I am checking drives firmware notes and I'm not sure if this also affect to E208p controller wich doesnt have cache.

  • Online firmware flashing of drives attached to a Smart Array controller running in Zero Memory (ZM) mode is NOT supported. Only offline firmware flashing of drives is supported for these configurations.

Re: Unable to update E208p controller card

The statement refers to the drive firmware. Since the controller firmware upgrade is failing in online mode, it was suggested to perform the upgrade offline using SPP.
