Unknown Initialization Error. DL385 G10 Server
Hello,
we're encountering an unusual issue with our DL385 G10 Server, which is fitted with two EPYC 7402 processors.
We've equipped all Channels with a single P00924-B21 (32gb) memory, leading to a total of 16 memories inserted, as per the memory population guideline.
The server is persistently generating the error message Unknown Initialization Error. The system has experienced a fatal initialization error. (Major Code: 0000404B, Minor Code: 00000000), and we're at a loss as to why.
The memories are certified HPE, with 12 from SK Hynix and 4 from Samsung.
Everything else is functioning perfectly, the issue seems to be solely with the memories.

Re: Unknown Initialization Error. DL385 G10 Server
It's quite interesting, isn't it...
We have 18 modules up and running perfectly, albeit at a slightly lower frequency of 2666 Mhz.

Re: Unknown Initialization Error. DL385 G10 Server
I'm curious as to why we encounter issues when we have 16 modules installed, but don't seem to have any problems when we increase that number to 18. Could someone shed some light on this?

Re: Unknown Initialization Error. DL385 G10 Server
Hello,
You may refer to section "Memory" on page 45 of the HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen10 Server's QuickSpecs for memory population guideline and install the memory as per it and see if it is a solution for the issue.
Regards,

Re: Unknown Initialization Error. DL385 G10 Server
Hi there,
We appreciate your guidance and have arranged the DIMMs accordingly. We're curious if the issue arises when Samsung is mixed with SK Hynix at 2933 Mhz? Interestingly, we don't encounter any issues when populating 18 slots at 2666 Mhz.

Re: Unknown Initialization Error. DL385 G10 Server
Hello,
As long as the spare part numbers of the memory module are compatible with this server, mixing them does not matter.

Re: Unknown Initialization Error. DL385 G10 Server
Is it possible that the memory type P03052-191U might not be compatible with the server and its operating frequency?
