HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10 disk support
Hi gurus,
easy to earn quick points for answering this. As apprentice (some 3 years now) into HPE server world, we re-sync some HPE stuff in our lab and plan do move 2x 1.2TB SAS 6G HDDs (EG1200JEMDA) from DL360Gen9 to DL390Gen10 with that array controller to build RAID-5 from 4 disks (these moved plus 2x Gen10-factory shipped, 12G SAS EG001200JWJNK).
Checking QS spec for that controller I see no blocker here by supporting older HDDs. Will RAID-5 work, just on lower 6Gbps max speed, or not at all? Or do you recommend to keep it in separate array? Currently we have RAID1 of shipped disks.
vShere VM workload, lab testing.
Thank you!
Peter

Re: HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10 disk support
Hi,
I'm sorry but you missed the point. I was asking on compatibility, 6G SAS support in Gen10 and RAID setup from mixed disks. No component list.
Thank you
Peter
