I'm trying to create a report to collect the temperature of all servers listed in IM7 SP2. I'm unable to find the option to do this. I can find the temperature of an individual server by checking the Environment section & it lists the over all thermal status.
Is there any way of generating all of this into a report?

Solution
Temperature is not a data collection item so it is not in the database. But let me ask you a question: Suppose you could do it and found out the following
server a 62C 72C 108C
server b 35C 75C
server c 80C 42C
...what would it be telling you? The answer is nothing. The temperature at the thermal sensor is only relative to the overtemp value. The overtemp value is based on but not equal to the operating temperature specification of the CPU. This is based on engineering tests of the system and the proximity of the sensor. Some systems have 3 or more sensors, others only 2. Each one can have different readings based on the proximity of the sensor.

Re: Creating a report on the Temperature of servers
Thanks for that information, the reason I asked was we are having a major issue with certain parts of our datacentre overheating. Is there any way within IM to be notified if a server is overheating & prevent the server from shutting down?

Re: Creating a report on the Temperature of servers
Automatic shutdown based on a thermal event is configurable in the RBSU (G2 and later servers) or through the system partition. You can choose to have the server not shutdown, but it still will send an event to IM7.
