How to monitor CPU and RAM usage

I'm running Insight Manager XE 2.0 with version 4.8 of the CIM agents. I'd like to set up thresholds and alerts for CPU and RAM usage on my servers just as I have with physical disk usage. I called Compaq Support and they gave me no usefull info. Is there anyway to set this up for non-clustered servers? Thanks.

There are base BMC Patrol agents you can install that allow monitoring of CPU and disk thresholds.

I have the Foundation Agent installed and all of the other Compaq agents for that matter. Am I missing anything else? Where in the XE 2.0 web console would I set up this monitoring? Thanks.

CIM XE doesn't (yet) support setting CPU or memory usage thresholds.

However, the Operation System Management feature (part of the agents) does. This is an optional component during the agent install (note that you have to run the full install from the Compaq Management CD to have this option.)

Where is this? I tried to re install the agents from the 4.80 version of the DC and could not find this option. I am presuming you mean Compaq Management Agent for Servers as the starting point. I tried this with no luck. Am I missing something, and if I am, please let me know, I am sure others here will be interested as well.

Yes, when installing the Management Agents from the Compaq Management CD select to install the optional component "OS Management".

Ok I found this and have it installed on a test machine, but I see no area where I can set up the threshold! Do I need to have local event notification on? If so, this seems to ruin the purpose of having Insight Manager XE in the first place. I have read the BMC Patrol information from the Compaq site and I can't seem to find any information including where to find the programs that are mentioned in the manual.
