Need clarification on IM7 and VCRM2 requirements

Does VCRM 2.0 *require* an IM7 server, and if so, does it have to be IM7 SP2? The documentation does not explicitly state either way. We have both in our environment, but one of my counterparts at a sister company does not have IM7 in place yet. He says it's required for VCRM2, I say it's not. We need clarification.

Is too, Is not! Now kids you should know if you actually succesfully got an IM7 server up and running then you should know the VCRM is a stand alone app. I don't mean to sound condescending, I just found the thread kinda funny (you vs the counterparts). I have VCRM v2 running in my DMZ with no IM7 server or database. It's just a little more difficult to manage as you have to go to each server's home page to view VC info (since there's no centralized view and/or manager.) hope this helps prevent any further argurments ;-)
