Broadcom NetXtreme-E 10GbE Network Card - "Unknown" Status on iLO5 - "Link Failure" Error

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with a Broadcom NetXtreme-E 2Px10GBASE-T OCP 3.0 Ethernet network card installed in a HPE DL360 Gen10+ server. The server is new, and since its startup, I have been unable to use the network card. It is detected in the BIOS, but its status shows as "Unknown" in the iLO5 interface. The iLO network card is functional.

I have error messages in the iLO logs indicating:

  • Broadcom NetXtreme-E 2Px10GBASE-T OCP 3.0 Ethernet - NIC Connectivity status changed to Link Failure for adapter in slot 10, port 1"
  • All links are down in adapter 10Gb 2-port Base-T BCM57416 OCP3 Adapter in slot 10"

  • The card is detected in BIOS, but the link status is not active.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

Hello,

As the card is detected in the server's BIOS, please verify the card's IP addressing. You may run command such as IPconfig release/renew if DHCP is the way of addressing. If the addressing is static, please check the IP assignment.

Also, please check if the relevant drivers have been installed for the operating system to recognize if correctly.

Re: Broadcom NetXtreme-E 10GbE Network Card - "Unknown" Status on iLO5 - "Link Failure" Error

Hello,

If no network connection is established, the reporting is accurate.
If the network card is connected to a switch and a network connection is established, install the AMS version according to the OS flavor to see if it resolves the issue.

Cheers....

Problem solved, thank you for your support, it had to be connected to a 10gb switch and the card started
