Alerts for version control agent updates?

Does anyone know if it's possible to set up SIM to send an alert when a new support paq is downloaded into the version control repository? Thanks!

Nope, don't think so.

Bummer. Do you know if HP themselves have a newsletter or something I could use?

I hate having to look for updates all the time.

Thanks!

Subscriber's Choice: http://www.hp.com/united-states/subscribe/gateway/?jumpid=go/subscribe-gate1

When you receive the email alert, VCRM should already have downloaded it for you.

If you go to the Software Download Pages there's a number of Alerts you can sign up for.

So go to:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locOsCat/69.html
And then go to the subscribe page.

There's also some very good Advisories that you can get which indicates possible issues.

Re: Alerts for version control agent updates?

FYI, SIM does generate an event when new files are downloaded to the repository. The event description is "A repository update has occurred." You could set up an event to trigger off of that. It's not going to tell you specifically what the files are, however, and since it happens on a schedule you specify, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise anyway.
