Cant connent to Status infomation after updating agents to 7.30.00.0

Hi folks

We use HP SIM version 4.2 SP2 and our Insight Managerment Agents are a mixture of 5.50.00.0 to 7.10.00.0.

I have just updated a couple of these agents to version 7.30.00.0 and now when I try to view the "Status Information" from "from Insight Management agents" I get the normal logon screen but then an "HTTP Status 404, Not Found" error and I cant view the hardware status information anymore.

I did reboot the server after updating the agents and all the services are running.

Obviously the updating of the agent software has broken something. Does anybody have any ideas where I have gone wrong???

Ooopppsss.... CORRECTION
We are actually running 4.1 SP1.

Maybe an update to 4.2 SP2 would correct this issue. Any ideas???

hi

go on the server you are having problems with and go to the system management homepage. then go to the version control agent and check to see that you have a column of green ticks under the support pack column.


If you can not get into the system managent home page then try running that single install again.

Ross,
Moving from PSP 7.10 to 7.30 requires that you have the System Management Homepage component installed for the web based agents to work. If you just upgraded the agents and did not install the SMH component then they will not work. Starting in PSP 7.20 the new component is required for the web access. You might try installing that component from the 7.30 PSP and see if it helps correct your problem.

Hi Steve, your sugegstion to got to the System Management Homepage works fine. The problem I had last night was accessing this from my SIM console.

Hi Rich, Thanks for your comments. I installed the entire Insight Agent software package which included the System Management Homepage.

This morning it looks slightly differant.
Now I can access the System Management Homepages of my agents from the SIM console. I can see now that last night the incorrect port address was being used and overnight it appears like my SIM console has somehow discovered the new agents versions and updated the port address's and all looks good.

Interesting.
I shall now continue my mission.

I would definitely encourage you to update to 4.2sp2 there are not only enhancements but several important bug fixes.
