Change SSH and VC passwords

I'm new to SIM so you will have to pardon my ignorance. I installed 4.2 to see how it ran. During the install I just set everything to use my credentials. Now I would like to change the accounts that the VC agents connect with and that the OpenSSH service runs under. I made a service account and gave it the same rights in SIM that my account has. When I go to a server and try to change the VC connection account I get a logon failure. Same thing if I try and use this account to start the OpenSSH service. I'm sure that I am going about this in the wrong manner but haven't been able to find a solution yet.
