Cluster Monitor Status Change event messages

Just installed SIM 4 & am receiving Cluster Monitor Status Change event messages repeatedly from every cluster in the SIM database.

These are examples of the messages from each cluster:
"MSCS resource: at Wed, 12-May-2004, 11:09 AM EDT device status on cluster serverclu01 became critical"
"CPU resource: at Wed, 12-May-2004, 11:09 AM EDT device status on node server01 of cluster serverclu01 became critical"
"Disk resource: at Wed, 12-May-2004, 11:09 AM EDT device status on node server02 of cluster serverclu01 became critical"

These are all 2k & 2K3 MS clusters with the latest HP Support Pack installed. The events are exacly the same for every cluster & are generated at random times from 30 min. to several hours.

These are the only errors being reported by Insight Manager. There are no events logged in Event Viewer & the cluster logs aren't showing any problems. Has anyone else come across this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Cluster Monitor Status Change event messages

I'm also havingthe same issue with the notifications. It appears that several people have the same issue. But the questions is what is the resolution?

Re: Cluster Monitor Status Change event messages

If you are running SIM 4.0 and the problem occurs once a day. (just after the daily Automatic Discovery runs) then this is a known problem which has been corrected in SIM 4.1.

Re: Cluster Monitor Status Change event messages

I don't know about everyone else, but my problem occurs many times a day. And I am running SIM 4.1.

Is there still no solution to this problem? I am getting over 100 of these messages a day.

Re: Cluster Monitor Status Change event messages

Did anyone resolve this, i'm on 6.2 and have that issue. There is no apparent issues with the W2K3 cluster either.

Re: Cluster Monitor Status Change event messages

i deleted everything in HP SIM and removed the cluster agent from the hosts (i thought this would remove all alerts but I still get some decent alerting and the cluster relationship now shows up correctly in HP SIM). I couldn't beat these annoying messages any other way.

I'm having the same issue with SIM 6.2 and SQL 2008 R2 Cluster.

Re: Cluster Monitor Status Change event messages

Unfortunatly no help, but we are having the same problem over here. The number of messages exploded after upgrading to SIM 6.3. With 6.0 we had 1-3 per day, now we have ~60 per day.......
We are monitoring a 2k3 cluster.

Re: Cluster Monitor Status Change event messages

I have the same issue, SIM 6.3 and Microsoft Exchange 2010 Cluster. We receive at least 20 messages per day that a resource of a nod from that cluster is critical.
From what i see here, it is an issue of SIM for more than 7 years and still no response or a solution.

Re: Cluster Monitor Status Change event messages

Hi all,

In a HPSIM training, we have reported a bug that has long been repeated in different SIM versions.
I am using version 6.3 and I have a 2008 HA cluster

System Resource: device status on node XXXXXXXX of cluster XXXXXXXX  became critical.

CPU Resource: device status on node XXXXXXXX of cluster XXXXXXXX became critical.

DISK Resource: device status on node XXXXXXXX of cluster XXXXXXXX became critical

Our teacher told us that we eliminated all cluster traps.. going to ...

Control Pannel -> HP Management Agents -> Services tab ->

Active Agents -> Agents that report via WBEM or SNMP

Inactive Agents -> Agents will no report via WBEM or SNMP

Put Clustering Information in Inactive agent and restart the SNMP or WBEM services (and dependencies)..
