Cluster Questions

I have two questions. Please refer to the image for greater understanding.

1) In the image, the cluster status shows as failed, however both nodes are up. When I click on the Cluster HS column, it gives me no message stating why it is down. I have seen where it was unable to read information from each node. SNMP is running and set up properly on both nodes. (I am not able to restart as I am not the administrator for the Clusters. If this is a troubleshooting step, I will ask one of the ClusterAdmins to do that).

2) In the image, it shows the Virtual Name (Cluster type) as having a SW column as ?. This should not be. We have two of our lab clusters showing with just the HS column and the Event column. How can I get rid of this for the other 10 clusters we have?

Re: Cluster Questions

Do you have the cluster agent enabled in the "HP Management Agents" control panel applet on both nodes (see attached)? By default, clusters are disabled.

Re: Cluster Questions

Yes, I forgot to mention that. Both nodes have the Clustering agent turned on. If it was off, it would not show the virtual name.

Re: Cluster Questions

Could be a DNS issue. Is your cluster virtual name in your DNS?

Re: Cluster Questions

Yes, I can ping the virtual name and it resolves.
