Okay, I am new to Systems Insight Manager. Installed without a hitch - ran through the basic setup and selected to be emailed of important events.
THe autodiscovery found my desktop PCs and logs a critical event when the PC is turned off - I ran back through the config and tried to uncheck the send email option but it won't turn off.
Is there any way to disable this?
Is there a dummys guide to SIM?
thanks

Solution
There's no dummys guide as such. The wizard is probably the closest thing to that.
The docs are very good, see them at;
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/infolibrary.html
You may need to delete the event handling task, after all there's not much point having it if it's not doing anything. Or you could edit the task you created to just include Servers.
The Discovery section of HPSIM has sections to include the IP Address ranges to discover as well as any addresses or address ranges to exclude.
HPSIM is more geared around managing servers.

Re: EMail notification - can't turn it off
You also have an option to disable the automatic event handling task.
