Faulting application snmp.exe, version 5.2.3790.0
I am getting the error "Faulting application snmp.exe, version 5.2.3790.0" in the application log on one of my DC's.
My SNMP service starts then immediately falls over giving the above error. There is also an event in system from the service control manager reading "The SNMP Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 6 time(s)"
Has anyone any ideas??
Server is an ML370 G4, running Win2003 standard, with the proliant support pack 7.20
Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. >> Pulling ones hair out!!

Re: Faulting application snmp.exe, version 5.2.3790.0
Since we test the ProLiant agents on thousands of servers here I doubt it's them in general, but likely some interaction.
You might also study what changes have been made to the server recently.

Re: Faulting application snmp.exe, version 5.2.3790.0
I encountered the same error as yours & the last thing I did was to install the apc ups ver 7.0.4 .
I tried to uninstall the apc software but the snmp prob still arise so the apc support claimed this is NOT their problem so I am wondering whose problem is this .
Need help urgently

Re: Faulting application snmp.exe, version 5.2.3790.0
I found that the Surveyor service caused the problem and disabled this service. SNMP stays running and until I can find a work around the Surveyor service will remain stopped
regards

Re: Faulting application snmp.exe, version 5.2.3790.0
I had a lot of problems when I installed the APC UPS 7.0.4! I could NOT uninstall the APC software, and at one point my CIMS server would not boot up. I finally booted into Safe Mode and from there I could disable the APC service. This fixed things until I had a chance to rebuild my server.
