Help: eMail notifications not working with HPSIM 4.2 on Win2K3SP1
Hello
I have just installed HPSIM 4.2 on a Windows 2003 SP1 server (with no firewall activated)
Everything seems to work; only emails notification doesn't work at all; I get the following error:
Sending failed; Could not connect to SMTP host: 172.16.1.3, port: 25; java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: connect
HRPM 1.1 software on the same server also freezes when trying to send email...
I have tested Java 1.4.1-04, 1.4.2-02,1.5.0 but it makes no difference...
Does anybody know something about this? What can I do?
Thanks in advance
Kind regards
Philippe

Re: Help: eMail notifications not working with HPSIM 4.2 on Win2K3SP1
Hello
Gloups...
Re-reading my post with "no firewall activated" makes me thinking that if the windows 2003 SP1 firewall was not activated, the viruscan 8 enterprise has also a port blocking option... and indeed port 25 was blocked...
So simple... so sorry...
Kind regards
Philippe
