Heres the thing, we installed it on one of our servers that is only used for backups in one of our sites, it already had SQL installed from Backup Exec which was fine, and we installed the latest Java Runtime from Sun. Now when we open it up, click yes to all the certificates, and then it just sits there "Checking for a Java Plugin". Any ideas on how to get past this point.
Thanks
Brett

Solution
Brett,
I may be off here, but I think this might be a situation where you need that critical patch from the SIM part of the website. This is supposed to take care of that hang up problem.
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/download.html#Windows4.1update
Let me know if that does the trick.
If not...SIM also tries to get you to install a java plugin as well. I think it's version 1.4.1_04. Something like that. So it might be a mismatch from what you downloaded from Sun versus what SIM wants to see.

Re: Insight manager is not starting
SIM works with various versions of JRE 1.4.2_xx and even works with the new JRE 1.5.
