I am rolling out the latest Insight Mgr agent, VCA & survey utility to my servers and I noticed that it appears to getting rid of my SNMP PUBLIC community name. Because of this, my servers are coming up unamanged.
I can't figure out which agent has the setting that is overriding it. I also checked the configs I set for each agent and it doesn't appear to contain specific SNMP settings anywhere.
Could someone explain where I have erred?
Could someone offer a solution to globally change my SNMP settings so I don;t have re-visit the 60 servers my team already did?
I have read most of the recent SNMP postings and am aware of the changes that 2003 makes. I am confident that is not my issue.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Installing new Insight Agents & SNMP settings - need advice
I don't know of anything in the Agents that removes any Community Settings.
I would recommend rolling out the entire Softpaq rather than individual components though as it's a tested bundle.
You can replicate Agent Settings but I wasn't aware this would remove existing Community Names. It can be used to push SNMP Settings to a number of Servers from a known good source.
I've tried to remove the Public Community name and replace it with a site specific Read Only Community name.

Solution
Hello
If use the latest software from Repository there is not options to set SNMP Community Name in pre-conigured components (settings of Agents, VCA or Survey).
But if use the Replicate Agents Settings ther are options to change all SNMP settings. And that is the easy-est options to cgange SNMP settings without visit your servers. The only what is need is established Trust relationship.
