Login to HP SIM

Hi there!

I've installed HP SIM v4.0 on my Dl380G1 and Windows 2003 Enterprise. I've also installed MS SQL 2000 sp3 and Java 1.4.2.04.
After a reboot i tried to login to HP SIM but it won't work.
Everytime i launch the website some certificate-warnings appear an when it comes to the login-screen I can't login regardless of the workstation i launch the website. I've tried to login with a domain-admin, with a local admin and with the service-account i used during installations of hp-sim. all 3 logins cause a "login invalid"-error message.

hopefully anybody can help me :-)

Re: Login to HP SIM

I'm not sure what you mean by the "service account" you used. HP SIM will install based on the currently logged in user.

Re: Login to HP SIM

Have your tried logging in right after that? When logging in from a workstation, I have to enter my credentials two times. This is the case with both IE and Mozilla. I too get an invalid login error. However, if I log on locally then I only need to enter my credentials once. I have not figured that one out.

Re: Login to HP SIM

By ensuring the address your using to login matches the certificate name you can make the Certificate pop-ups go away.

Once passed that the login credentials need to be of the account HPSIM was installed with including the domain name.
Once you've logged in for the first time additional User Logins can be entered.

Re: Login to HP SIM

Hi!

With "service Account" i mean a normal account that was used during installation. I don't like programs that use my own administration account to login :-)

I tried to login from the server itself and from a workstation. Both times I get the same "invalid login" error.
Maybe there is a Problem with the password? I used a quite complex password consisting of letters, numbers and symbols. Maybe Java has a problem with that?

Re: Login to HP SIM

It would not be a Java problem, more likely an HTTP problem. We have seen how things like leading spaces in passwords can't be passed from a browser.

Re: Login to HP SIM

Hi!

I solved the problem.
After uninstalling the hole SIM-Package and installing the version 4.1 it works just fine.
Thanks for the help!
