Microsoft Clustering & HPSIM

I have a couple of two server cluster, 1 pair is a hardware configured cluster which HPSIM actually sees as a cluster whihc is great. The other pair is software clustered using Microsoft clustering technology, only HPSIM don't see these pair as clustered?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks

Re: Microsoft Clustering & HPSIM

We can discover even MSCS clusters. Make sure that the insight management agents are installed on both the nodes and make sure that the "Clustering Information" is among the Active agents. To verify the same (after installing the agents), go to the Control Panel and click on "HP Management Agents" and under the Services tab check if "Clustering Information" is part of the Active agents.

Re: Microsoft Clustering & HPSIM

That's a start in the right direction. This clusters have Smartstart 7.10 install with all the managements agents ie storage, nic, server all running as services. I can't find anything relating to clustering running.

Control panel now shows the clustering added as you advised. But shouldn't there be an agent running in services?

I've looked on the Smartstart set and I can't find anything for clustering agents.

Can you shed anymore light please.

Re: Microsoft Clustering & HPSIM

Sorted, I just deleted the nodes and rediscovered and they are now seen as a cluster.

Cheers for your help.
