Migration of Insight Database to a different SQL Server
Hello All,
I need your help.I have HPSIM setup on a Front End Server pointing to the IMDatabase on another SQL Server. The SQL Server which is hosting the IM Database is running out of resources.MY DBA wanted to migrate/move this database to a new SQL Server. So there fore we have to change the current HPSIM to point to the new SqlServer. Is this some thing possible or should I have to reinstall HPSIM.If it possible then where in the HPSIM application, I can repoint to the new ServerName\Database name after my DBA moves the current database to the new Server. If it is not possible and the only option is to reinstall HPSIM then what happens to the other configurations in the application like the Version Control Agent Repository,Queries etc. Also advise if there is a third option to acheive my objective here.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Re: Migration of Insight Database to a different SQL Server
Not done this yet, but my understanding is that you just need to shutdown HPSIM and any related products move the DB and then update the database.props files, I think this is in the config directory but a search should find it.
Restart HPSIM and it should connect to the relocated DB.
