New Windows 2003 servers not being detected
Hi,
I've got a problem with SIM whereby I have a few Windows 2003 servers which are not picked up when I do an automatic detection.
Even if I add the servers in as devices manually, it still doesn't find what the server actually is.
Can anyone help me with this please?

Re: New Windows 2003 servers not being detected
Hello
Windows 2003 installations do not have SNMP installed by default, so you must install
SNMP manually.
Windows 2003 default settings for SNMP, tab security is, Accept SNMP pockets from these host : localhost. For properly discovered system in HPSIM you must add IP or name of your HPSIM server and 127.0.0.1 (localhost).

Re: New Windows 2003 servers not being detected
Thanks a lot Ivan, adding the SIM server IP in to SNMP worked fine.

Re: New Windows 2003 servers not being detected
I had the same problem - in my case solution was to change snmp settings (it was installed by default). In w2k3 snmp settings are to accept snmp packets only from itself - change to accept any snmp packet and it should work
