I just installed HP Systems Insight Manager 4.0 to a Windows 2003 Server. I configured the application and had it auto-discover the nodes I wanted to manage. When I came in this morning, the server would not detect that I had JRE installed. It just sits there and says, "Please wait. Checking for a Java Runtime Environment.".
I tried rebooting the server, uninstalling the Jave Runtime environment and letting SIM install the version it wants, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled SIM as well.
For some reason the hp insight manager server can't detect java any longer.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Ed Stockwell

Re: No login page displayed in SIM
But on our Windows XP clients with SIM, it doesnt work. Deinstalling the mentioned hotfix solves the problem, though it is not a good solution to deinstall security fixes...

Re: No login page displayed in SIM
There is no option to do so in ADD/REMOVE or an uninstall folder in the WINNT folder.
The Update was installed through SUS and it is there. Help|about in IE shows it.
HP needs to fix this ASAP because Firefox and Mozilla pretty choke most of the time when loading the HPSIM java pages.

Re: No login page displayed in SIM
I have the same problem.
Can you verify if you have showLogonScreen on C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager\hpwebadmin\webapps\ROOT\login.jsp
file? see if you have a call to this function on logon_onLoad().
Regards,
Carlos
