No version control agent repository detected

Hi,

This is like another call logged recently, but that didn't have a known fix before it came good, so I am posting this.

I have 2 servers that are (perhaps coincidently, perhaps not) running NT 2003 and I cannot get them to see the Version Control Repository that all the other servers see. When I set the computer name, login account and password all is okay (ie: it connects to that server), but I get the following error message:

"No inventory information is available to obtain a list of Support Packs from. A valid Version Control Repository Manager that contains one or more Support Packs must be configured before a Reference Support Pack may be selected. If you have just selected a repository, please wait a few minutes and then refresh this page"

I am perplexed, I've tried everything I can think of, to no avail. I have reconfigered another server and it sees the repository okay. Any suggestions?

Simon....

Re: No version control agent repository detected

I've worked this out for myself :-)

The key appears to be (as I suspected) the fact that 2003 was installed on the servers that weren't cooperating.

Once I installed the 2003 Support Pack v7.10A into the repository, I could then select it on the 2x 2003 servers and all is okay now.

For anyone elses' benefit (if they'd forgotten, as I had), how to do this:-

Connect to the Systems Management Homepage of the server that has VCRM installed, click on the Links tab and there is a "Version Control Agent Manager" link on there.
