NT 4.0 Version Control Agent and VCRM 2.1 on Windows 2003

We have deployed HP SIM 5.0 along with VCRM 2.1 on a Windows 2003 server. The VCRM is working well with 2003 and 2000-based servers. However, we have two NT 4.0 Servers which will not be retired or upgraded anytime soon. In the configuration for their Version Control Agents, the only options I'm given for login to the VCRM are anonymous, user, operator, and administrator. I have attempted to use administrator along with the password for our VCRM account, but this does not work. Is there any way to specify the actual user name, or any other way around this?

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

Actually, because of limitatins on the use of OS Administrator for the new VCRM you should try using Operator. I would suggest you select Operator for your old VCA's then make sure you have an Operator userid setup on the system running VCRM. The ID will need to be a part of the default Admin group or you will need to place it into a group you define and then make sure the System Management Homepage is set to use that group for Admin or Operator purposes.

Re: NT 4.0 Version Control Agent and VCRM 2.1 on Windows 2003

I set up a user on the HPSIM server called operator and set the NT4 VCAs to use that, but I still get the following error when I save the new settings:

The new configuration was stored successfully but there was an error retrieving data from the Version Control Repository Manager using the saved settings.

Never mind my last post...I had forgotten to make the operator user a member of Administrators on the VCRM server. I did that and the NT4 VCA seems to be working fine now.

Thanks for the reply.
