Register Agents with SMH
Hi
I am pushing out the latest PSP (7.40b) to W2K and W2K3 servers from HP SIM 5.0.
Everyhthing installs without any errors, however when I look at the SMH there are no Integrated Agents or Other Agents registered.
If I completely uninstall the old PSP and then push out the full PSP with the new components then all the other agents are available via the SMH. I have tried reinstalling just the agents but this does not work.
If anyone has a method of getting the SMH to see the agents without the uninstall scenario could you please let me know.
Cheers
Oli

Re: Register Agents with SMH
Was the Server rebooted after the PSP Upgrade?
At the very least restart the Agents. But a reboot is usually required.
Pushing a PSP Update out should work. Have you configured the Agents (Trusts etc.) before deploying?

Re: Register Agents with SMH
Hi Rob
Thanks for getting back to me.
It turned out that the only way to get this to work was to delete the c:\hp\sslshare directory prior to pushing out the the PSP. Probably because the intitial PSP install was scripted as part of the OS build so wasn't registered with the SMH or CMS?
Cheers Oli
