rename host / change ip address

hello,

how can i change the host name or ip address of a managed system without creating a new database record by hpsim tasks (discovery,...)?

Rename the server and change it's IP then be sure the SNMP traps are set to point to the CMS, just delete the old server on SIM. SIM will rediscover the new server automaticly when you have the box checked "Automatically discover a system when an event is received from it" in autodiscovery.

hi and thank you,
but this is not a real solution for me. whenn i delete the server record all logged hardware/software events are also removed. i want to keep this old events in my db associated to the renamed server.
