[SIM 4.2] Automatically removing duplicate events, is that possible?

Currenty running SIM 4.2 in a very large environment. All the agents on the servers are set to send their SNMP trap messages to the SIM server. Unfortunatley that is about 1000 Events a day. It makes it difficult to parse through all those events. What happens is that one server may send out the exact same event about 10 times a day. All I need is one event to be aware of the problem. What would be ideal is when a duplicate event comes in, it would remove the older event.

Is this possible? Or is there another way to go about this?

Not that I'm aware of in HPSIM.
I'd be concerned with the number of events being generated, how many Servers?

Are these all Critical or Major Events?

Re: [SIM 4.2] Automatically removing duplicate events, is that possible?

Currently it really isn't something to worry about and here is why. We have 900+ DL380 G2s and G3s and some 8500s. The only Critical Message that is about 99% of the Events are Accelerator Battery issues. We are currently in the process of upgrading the firmware and drivers for the 6400 Array Controllers that can possibly report false battery information on older firmware. It is just plain annoying to have 500 event pop up over the night and try and filter through them. Granted the ultimate solution is to get the firmware and drivers upgraded, but it is hard in a production environment.
