DL360 G10 - Unsupported DIMM Configuration
Hi,
I would like to clear this Degraded status on this system for BIOS/Hardware Health.
Caution" Unsupported DIMM Configuration Detected - Installed DIMM configuration does NOT support configured AMP Mode. System will operate in Advanced ECC Mode. (Major Code:0000003A Minor Code:00000000"
I have 512GB of total memory
8 DIMMS x 32GB 2666Mhz = 256GB
16 DIMMS x 16GB 2933Mhz = 256GB
Will this different configuration clear this error? If not any other suggestions?

Re: DL360 G10 - Unsupported DIMM Configuration
Hello,
Looking at your configuration I believe I see the problem. You have to populate the DIMMs with the higest rank count in the white DIMM slots in each channel, then populate the other DIMMs in the black DIMM slots in each channel.
Here is a diagram of the channel layout for your DL360 Gen10
I belive this configuration should work. The changes are in RED.
PROC 1 DIMM 1 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 1 DIMM 2 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 1 DIMM 3 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 1 DIMM 4 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 1 DIMM 5 32.00 GB 2666 MHz RDIMM
PROC 1 DIMM 6 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 1 DIMM 7 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 1 DIMM 8 32.00 GB 2666 MHz RDIMM
PROC 1 DIMM 9 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 1 DIMM 10 32.00 GB 2666 MHz RDIMM
PROC 1 DIMM 11 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 1 DIMM 12 32.00 GB 2666 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 1 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 2 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 3 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 4 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 5 32.00 GB 2666 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 6 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 7 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 8 32.00 GB 2666 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 9 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 10 32.00 GB 2666 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 11 16.00 GB 2933 MHz RDIMM
PROC 2 DIMM 12 32.00 GB 2666 MHz RDIMM
Here is the white paper explaining the population rules.

I hope this helps.

Re: DL360 G10 - Unsupported DIMM Configuration
Hi msobers22,
Thanks for the response.
Ive read the dimm configuration and understand your indication.
But I do not have the same ammount of high level (32Gb) dimm as the other (16GB).
Do you suggest this configuration specifically? Or another?
4x 32GB DIMMS in WHITE slots of CPU1
4x 32GB DIMMS in WHITE slots of CPU2
8x 16GB DIMMS in BLACK slots of CPU1
8x 16GB DIMMS in BLACK slots of CPU2

Re: DL360 G10 - Unsupported DIMM Configuration
Hi,
I understand that you do not have the same amount of 32GB DIMMs as you do 16GB DIMMs. You have to start with the 32GB and then insert the 16GB. In the DIMM layout you posted the DIMM positions were not the same for CPU1 and CPU2. See page 20 of the whitepaper where they talk about mixing smartmemory DIMM configurations then it will make sense.
