We recently acquired three DL360 G10 with the new HPE NS204i-p x2 Lanes NVMe PCIe3 x8 OS Boot Device. Of the three servers two show "warning" icons against one of the NVMe drives. The HPE Engineer has tried multiple different approaches to resolve the issue ( if it is an issue - maybe display error - only? ). This occured at install - so in effect DOA. There is currently no OS on the servers. At the controller layer the device shows as "green". Anyone had a similar issue and hopefully a resolution. HPE seem to be floundering ..... to find a resolution. With the demise of SD and USB VMware Boot we were looking to this device to address this problem. Not a good start. The devices are "black boxes" with supposedly no need ( or facility ) for Customer interactions.

SolutionI hope the boot controller NS204i-p is functional despite of warning.
I have seen similar issue and noticed that warning was basically thermal warning,
Please change тАЬoptimal coolingтАЭ to тАЬтАЭincreased coolingтАЭ in the BIOS and check the status.
To modify the Thermal Configuration, from the System Utilities screen, perform the following:
Press F9 to enter the System Utilities
Select System Configuration
Select BIOS/Platform Configuration(RBSU)
Select Advanced Options
Select Fan and Thermal Options
Press Enter
Select Increased Cooling
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Sudhir

Re: Query: HPE NS204i-p NVMe OS Boot Device - Drive displays warning icon
Thank you. This really helps me after hurting my little brain for about 3 days. By trying to understand why is my smart storage array only shows 1, NVME SSD drives while 2 are installed lol.
Finally, find an answer to my question. Thank you.
