Re: HPE legacy warranty check site retirement - Feb. 28, 2023

Oh, man. I just couldn't believe HPE is giving us something inferior than what we use to have.

If HPE let us vote, all of us would want the current tool.

Re: HPE legacy warranty check site retirement - Feb. 28, 2023

One would wonder why we can no longer use a simple tool to check warranty status. Shows a complete lack of understanding of "Customer". Just wasted fifteen minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't do what I used to be able to do. Simple and easy just became "painful".

Voicing my opinion; this IS stupid.  I've been faithfully recommending Compaq-HP(e) Servers for nearly 20 years.

That's the final straw.  I'm done.  HPE Is lost to me.

I guess the small business clients get Dell now.

My guess is that this is a Greenlake GUI that they want to force everyone to use so when they force resellers to sell HaaS they will already be using some of Greenlake's features.

Warranty Check Update – service details are live

As part of the HPE Support Center digital transformation, the new warranty check has been enhanced and now provides the same details as the legacy warranty check – including support level, service details, and active dates for current and expired support. Please begin using the new warranty check to efficiently check support status one serial number at a time.

We would like to remind that the legacy warranty check will be decommissioned soon. The planned decommission date is made available in the Legacy Warranty Check Tool, so please ensure to pay attention to it. Until then, you can continue to use the legacy warranty check for checking support status on multiple serial numbers at once.

While analysis shows that approximately 90% of checks are for a single device, we recognize there are business requirements to check support status for multiple devices at once. Consequently, the new warranty check will continue to evolve to support multi-check functionality in the future.

As a reminder, partners who are authorized to use HPE Services360 Pro may use it to check support for up to 20 devices at a time. All other partners may engage their distributors or other sales channels regarding best process or tools to source support information.

Thanks for the info Audrey. This new tool is surpemely unhelpful. Not only do we have to use a bloated slow login process to get to it but it doesn't provide the same information at all. As an HPE customer at a company with thousands of devices, we don't want this.

Re: NEW DATE - HPE legacy warranty check site retirement - March 14, 2023

HI,

HP should be striving to make our lives easier and faster… Having to log in to check 1 SN# is a waste of our precious time.
We only have so much billable time available each week so this is an unnecessary waste of our valuable time.
Thanks

Best and if I can be of further assistance do not hesitate to contact me,

Re: NEW DATE - HPE legacy warranty check site retirement - March 14, 2023

Hi,

When will access be available to the new Warranty API tool described at Warranty Check API Portal (redoc.ly) .  I submitted a request for access some time ago and got back no response.  This tool would be very handy as we have a few hundred HPE devices that we manage for our customer base.  I have submitted requests to the tool via requests B230127054203 and B230131103509 and have also emailled both hpe_customer_engagement@hpe.com and hpedev@hpe.com.

Also just submitted a request via https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/wcapiregistration .Moderator [above link is no longer valid, please visit https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/  to find the latest info ]

Would really love access to this tool as it would make my life easier.

Thanks,

The make-do singular warranty check does not provide a print function or a PDF download function to enable us to get a proper sheet of warranty data.

Re: HPE Warranty Check tool gone!?

Yes, i saw.  the workaround is no more.  Fortunately, it is not too difficult to create a passport account to access the tool but I do completely disagree with turning such anm important tool inward.

Re: HPE Warranty Check tool gone!?

I don't understand why HPE makes simple things like warranty checks and firmware updates so cumbersome. We have dozens of clients with HP servers and switches and it is always way more difficult than it needs to be to manage these simple tasks. I have been recommending alternate brands when this equipment needs to be replaced because I don't have times to get bogged down on these types of tasks.

I have the same experience. It's infuriating. Totally unnecessary too. Shockingly bad, quite frankly.

Re: HPE Warranty Check tool gone!?

@HeatherMiller,

I think most people who are watching this thread are already aware of the information you have provided.  The real issue is that HP have removed the option to perform multiple device warranty checks and also it seems impossible to also get access to the Warranty Check API, which may also be a suitable alternative in some circumstances.  The new "enhanced" tool is actually crippled compared to the old one.

Cheers,

Jason
