Autoloader 1/8 & insight messages

Have an autoloader 1/8 using ultrium 430 drive.
Every time that it changes a tape appears to generate insight messages:-
The system has detected the following event:

SNMP Trap: 5019
System URL: http://NEWSTCRS08:2301/
Date time: 03/15/2004 12:09:39 PM
Computer: NEWSTCRS08
Source: Storage Agents
Type: Error
Category: (4)

Description:
A 'SCSI Tape Drive Status Change' trap signifies that the Storage Agent has detected a change in the status of a Compaq SCSI Tape Drive.
Details:
Drive Logical Unit # 0
SCSI ID # 5
Port # 1
Controller Slot # 1
Tape Drive Status 'OFFLINE'

And another message when finished saying that status is OK.
Am using 5 tapes to backup 1.1Tb. thus many messages generated.

Any good ideas out there?

What OS are you running?
What version of Insight Manager?
Do you have latest support-paq?

Re: Autoloader 1/8 & insight messages

The same and numerous messages are also appearing on the HP Proliant ML530 G2 with a SDLT320 tape drive. My cell phone/pager devices is quite busy with numerous Insight alerts when the disk to tape backups are running.
The survey file from this computer is attached.
1. Compaq ProLiant ML530 G2, SystemROM (10/31/2003)
2. Tape drive COMPAQ SDLT320, firmware
version 4B4B
3. Operating system: Microsoft Windows .NET 2003 Server Version 5.2 (build 3790)
4. ProLiant Support Pack for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 version 6.40A (English (US)) is used.
5. A few updates that came after this support pack have also been installed.
For example,
HP Insight Management Agents for Windows 2000/Server 2003 7.0.0.0 cp003732.exe
HP ProLiant 64-Bit/66-Mhz Dual Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003 version 6.4.645.100;
AND
HP ProLiant NC31xx Fast Ethernet NIC Driver for Windows Server 2003 7.0.40.0

Examples: Numerous messages

over and over again. The backups run fine though.

How do I get this to stop?

Re: Autoloader 1/8 & insight messages

Did anyone ever discover a solution to this issue...? I am experiencing the exact same issue and have had no luck with HP Support. We keep going through the same iteration of CIM updates but none of it seems to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Re: Autoloader 1/8 & insight messages

I'm getting the same type problem:

The system has detected the following event:

SNMP Trap: 5019
System URL: http://XXXX:2301/
Date time: 11/27/2004 11:54:24 PM
Computer: XXXX
Source: Storage Agents
Type: Informational

Drive Logical Unit # 0
SCSI ID # 2

Controller Slot # 0
Tape Drive Status 'OK'

I have yet to find any resolutions.

and everything seems to back up normally.

Re: Autoloader 1/8 & insight messages

I am having exactly the same problem with my new Certance LTO3 autoloader.

Insight Manager 7.1
Windows 2000 support pack 7.1

Does anyone from HP monitor these forums? Clearly this is a widespread problem, not an isolated one, and it has been going on for over 1 year.

Re: Autoloader 1/8 & insight messages

Hello All,

I used to get this error too with my Autoloaders, but HP relased new HP agents, specifically version 7.1 that fix this issue. Run the PSP and install the 7.1 agents and it should fix these very annoying errors.
