HPE Type autoldr status error 9e 09
Hello All,
I try any thing I could do.
but HPE Type Machine always show the Error 9E 09.
I check have one Type always in inside can't take it.
Have anyone could tell me how to do??

Elevator3 range of motion out of specification
Remove all magazines and look for any obstructions to the robot.
Run the wellness test.
- I can't remove anything, because the HPE Type Machine always show the initial Error 9E 09 message, anything I try to do something.
include Support/wellness test, reboot, unlock left / right or any action..... - so I open the machine case and take them by hand??
- Please help to tell how to do it to normal.

2. What is the model and generation of the system?
3. Does the system has any enclosure?
4. What is the library system firmware version?

Hello sbhat09,
After I received error 9E 09 (initial error), I did a lot of things, including rebooting/Operation/support.....
I even dismantled the machine and manually removed the tape cassette inside.
However, the error message still exists and nothing has changed.
The same thing happened when I checked Type Machine. Every time I turned around, the E9 09 error message appeared.
However, before E9 09 occurred, I put 4 new tapes in the left cartridge. After the first cartridge was successfully Formatted, when executing the second blank cartridge, E9 09 appeared, and the cartridge was inside, and it could not be was released, and returned to its original position, so that the left or right cassette could not be released.
At present, I have manually removed all the cartridges in the Type Machine after disassembling the machine, but the message Error E9 09 still exists.

@JenWang, I think the error is due to the new cartridges in the bottom most slots where the robotic arm can't reach. Or some issue with the robotic assembly belt or ladder teeth.
1. Please remove the cartridges from bottom most slots and check.
2. Then, carefully inspect the robotic assembly ladder and belts for any damages.
3. Check for library firmware update.

I think the problem is HPE Type Machine the command action still in formate 2nd type cassette not finished!?
so, Have any way let Tape Machine forget it and go on?? ( I guess).

@JenWang, looks like the issue is with the cartridge slot2, Have you tried shuffling/removing the cartridge in slot 2?
Also carefully inspect for any abstruction in the slot, barcode status and position, robotic belt as well.

I removed all tape cassettes, now machine in all empty, but HPE tape Machine info seems can't renew the info.

Hello @JenWang,
You have checked all the possibilities with the hardware. At this stage I suspect the issue could be with the firmware.
Please follow the below plan of action:
Shutdown the 1/8 Autoloader
Remove all magazines and look for any obstructions to the robot.
Make sure no obstructions to the robot movment path.
Make sure all the medias are seated properly in respective slot.
(I assume you have done till here. If not, please follow the steps till here)
Power On the Library and check.
If the system firmware Revision is 5.20 --Update the Library Firmware to 6.0
If the drive Firmware Revision is 019.545 --Drive Firmware wrong or corrupted, Install the latest version of firmware.
Run the wellness test and make a note of the result outcome.
Please let me know how it goes. If the issue persists, I will provide you further steps.

Could I get your eMail address to send the error log to you.
because I am not sure my HPE tape Machine the information and how to upgrade the firmware and system or library.....
The 9E 09 error is not first time, at first time happened the error, I shutdown the power and took out the component at machine back,
then after reboot machine, the machin will all OK.
So I decision to replace the new tape (left all 4), when first tape was siccess , I do the 2,3,4 scan and formation to backup pool,
then the error 9E 09 happened again and do anything is no work.
so I think maybe you need the compelete error log to help me.
