Need latest firmware for LTO-8 Ultrium 30750

Hello. I am hoping someone can help me. I just need the firmware (Q387) for the LTO-8 Ultrium 30750. I tried many times to get it from the HPe website but it's so complicated and I keep hitting multiple road blocks. It's worse than filing for my taxes. It asks for a serial number, I enter it in and it says it's invalid. I try the HPE library and tools software but I get an error stating the token ID is invalid, even though it just gave it to me seconds before. This is my first HP LTO drive. Can someone please help me with this? There's gotta be an easier way.

The latest firmware for LTO-8 Ultrium 30750 can be found here.

Access to some updates might require product entitlement when accessed through the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Support Center.

Please note that you must have an HPE Passport set up with relevant entitlements. To view and update your entitlements and to link your contracts and warranties with your profile. For more information on this, please visit Access to HPE Support Materials.

You can go directly to the HPE support page for the Ultrium 30750 LTO-8 firmware. And make sure you’re downloading the Q387 version, which is for normal mode and not secure mode. If you continue to face issues, consider reaching out to HPE support directly for assistance with the serial number and token ID errors. They should be able to guide you through the process or provide the firmware directly.

Thank you very much for response. Unfortunately, when I try to create a support case it states that my serial number is not valid and will not let me go on any further. I know my device is still within warrenty so I don't know why I cannot get any support with it. Every time I am asked for the serial number, the support stops right now. Whether I create a case, add a product, ect...

Are these threads monitored by HPE support?

Unfortunately still unresolved. HPE support still cannot find the serial number for my drive and therefore are still refusing to send me the latest firmware.

Three weeks later and I am still getting nowhere.I have been bounced around between customer service and their TAC, which neither of them can help me. I keep being told to provide my serial even though we've gone down this path already. I really hope that this occurence is not typical for HPE support. The customers at my business would not tolerate level of service one bit. All I need is the latest firmware. I can only imagine that they will put me through if I ever need to get the drive serviced.

The issue is finally resolved after six weeks.  After going back and fourth from department to department and having to explain the problem over and over again HPE realized they forgot to scan the serial number of the drive before they sold it which is why they couldn't find the drive in their system. In addition I also had to involve the retailer where I got the drive from had to waste his time. I have learned a valuable lesson here. Don't do business with HPE again. This was my first time dealing with them and it will be my last.

me too. HPE support still cannot find the serial number for my drive and therefore are still refusing to send me the latest firmware.

Is there an issue with registering the product using the S/N on it? I also purchased an LTO-8 drive, but I haven't received the product yet.
Reading this post makes me a bit concerned.

I'm experiencing the same issue.
I bought a brand new unit manufactured in Week 10 of 2025, but the serial number can't be found during registration.
HPE support is currently checking, but honestly, it’s hard to understand how a recently produced product isn’t in the system.
It looks like quite a few people are going through the same thing.
It doesn’t make sense that customers have to resolve this one by one. HPE needs to address this systematically.

In my case, I was unable to register the product using the serial number (SN) on the first day of delivery, so I contacted HPE Customer Support and created a case.
I provided a photo of the label showing the SN and a copy of the invoice for purchase verification.
About three days later, HPE sent me a simple form for product registration. After completing and returning the form, I was able to register the product with the SN on the same evening.

I sincerely appreciate the prompt assistance.
I kindly request that measures be taken to prevent similar issues for other customers in the future.
