Auxcopy Backup Failed

Hi Team

Currently our auxcopy backup in commvault failed due to this error.

Error occurred while processing chunk [203816] in media [V_9855], at the time of error in library [CJP_VMs_Lib] and mount path [[cjp-macomm-p01] CJP_VM], for storage policy [CJP_VMs] copy [AuxCopy to BSP] MediaAgent [cjp-macomm-p01]: Backup Job [38779]. Target Media encountered error. Source: cjp-macomm-p01, Process: CVJobReplicatorODS

Upon checking,  the auxcopy using HPE Catalyst Storage and from HPE end we found the copy status Pending as below.

Auxiliary Copy operations using HPE Catalyst Copy: 

Commvault storage policies can specify creating a secondary copy of the data. This is called an Auxiliary Copy operation.

 If both the primary backup and the secondary copy are directed to HPE Catalyst stores, the Auxiliary Copy operation will automatically initiate an HPE Catalyst Copy. 

 These copies use low-bandwidth mode so the Catalyst Copy jobs write unique chunks of data to the target Catalyst store. 

 The secondary store can be on the same HPE StoreOnce appliance as the primary, on a separate HPE StoreOnce appliance for redundancy, or on an HPE Cloud Bank Store for disaster recovery. 

 The Commvault client is not involved in creating these secondary copies. Auxiliary copies can be set up to run immediately after the primary copy has successfully completed or can be scheduled.

 On the Auxcopy schedule set 10 streams .

 In such an environment we can set the following keys and limit the aux copy streams. Below configuration is advised on such circumstances:

MediaAgent/SDTMaxThreads 250 on the Media agent Machines

cvd/nNumPipelineBuffers 300 on the Media agent Machines

· We also want to reduce the number of parallel aux copy streams to 200 so 10 streams for each aux copy job schedule should limit this to 200 streams.

· The above should allow 50 threads for backup so the backup run unhindered.
