Hi,
Due to new regulations about power consumption and power savings I was wondering what default "HP Power Profile" / "HP Power Regulator" are for the StoreVirtual 4530.
We all like to set these things to "Max performance" but I wonder what the default is.
There is no note in any documentation for as far as I know.
Default on the server-line is the "Balanced" profile, but thats for servers.
How about the storage (what is a normal DL380G8 ofcourse).
Any one the correct answer?

Re: Original Power Profile on StoreVirtual 4530
We can set the Power Regulator Mode to Max performance.

SolutionHi @MGoorman
Great question! Power settings can often be overlooked but are crucial—especially with newer regulations kicking in.
The StoreVirtual 4530, which is indeed based on the DL380 Gen8 server platform, typically ships with HP Power Profile set to "Maximum Performance" and Power Regulator set to "HP Static High Performance Mode" by default. This aligns with its intended use as a storage appliance where consistent performance is prioritized over power savings.
You’re absolutely right that server defaults are often "Balanced," but in the case of StoreVirtual, HPE tuned the system out-of-the-box for performance, not efficiency. It’s good practice to double-check BIOS settings, especially after firmware upgrades or resets.
Thanks for raising this—definitely helpful for others looking to stay compliant without compromising storage performance!
