Re: Can not RDP after server reboot

Slim Dude,
First, I'm excited that it's not only me. Second, I have no resolution for you other than I have found exactly what you have:

If server is rebooted via RDP, you CANNOT RDP into it until it is rebooted again from the local console. I have found this to be only W2K3 SP1 as SP2 seems to be fine for me. My first guess was a security feature, but no matter how much I searched, I came up emtpy. Restarting Terminal Services doesn't help either. Just plain weird that the server functions fine, but no one can RDP to it until it is locally restarted.

Let me know if you come across any fixes.

Re: Can not RDP after server reboot

The following KB might be of interest:

"A Windows Server 2003-based computer stops responding when you shut down the computer in a remote console session"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930045

Also recommend PSP 8.0 if not already installed.

Re: Can not RDP after server reboot

We've had the same issue and the hotfix resolves it.
