how to setup time server on windows 2003

Hi, there:

Could anyone help me with the configuration of network time server on windows 2003.

The server is in a standalone workgroup, after run "net time /setsntp:timeserver", I can't seems to find the right command option using "w32tm" to sync the server with the time server.

Thanks a lot for your help!

consider NTP, the windows port is very stable, and not selectivly broken like the windows time service.

get the gui install.

Re: how to setup time server on windows 2003

I found the solution to the problem:

I got following error message when click on
"update" button next to "Internet Time Server" drop-down list:

"An error occured getting the status the last synchronization. The interface is unknown.".

Solution: The "Windows Time" service are set to "automatic" but somehow is not started. Start the service and run "update" again will sync the time.

For Windows 2000, you run w32tm -once when the Windows Time service is stopped, seems MS has changed it in 2003.
