Keith:
What happens if you remove the battery and power up from an AC source?
Thanks

Re: NC8000 will not power up
I tried that serveral times, all to no avail. I left it on the side of the desk for an hour then tried again, and it started. I don't know what to make of it, and it has happened before.

Re: NC8000 will not power up
Hi Keith,
You don't mention your OS, but if you go to http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/hpcpqnk/us/family/model/5838.html?submit.y=4&submit.x=5〈=en&cc=us select your OS and see maybe about getting some update for your bios?
There is also a diags for windows which might indicate where the problem comes from. Are there any clues in the event viewer?
When did this start?.. after a windows update? adding any hardware/software?

If you can keep your head whilst all around you are losing theirs... You haven't understood the situation!
