Team member straight talk
Q: What makes Human Resources unique versus HR at other companies?
A: First, HPE’s culture, which embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion. Everyone can bring their best self to work and be celebrated for it. HPE is a high-performing company where you can grow and access all sorts of opportunities for development, with a global scope.
You get the chance to sign up for exciting cross-functional projects, expand your expertise, and contribute with your skills and talent. You own your career, and there’s plenty of opportunity to challenge yourself in different ways and find what you like to do the most. You also get to work with the greatest teams and inspirational leaders.
Q: How do you redefine what’s next in your career?
A: Everything you learn, and everyone you meet, will be of value throughout your career. I think the key is to keep an open mind and prepare in advance for opportunities that may arise in the future. I always take every opportunity to learn, to push myself more each day, and discover what I can do and achieve, for my purpose, and for others.
Q: What is one piece of advice you would give someone interested in your field?
A: Know yourself, your strengths, and your purpose. Why do you do what you do, what is unique in you, and how you can bring all of that to the table to make things better and advance the way people live and work. If you want to pursue a career in HR, add business acumen to the mix as we have a tremendous opportunity to positively impact the people we work with, our communities, our customers by driving business outcomes.
