Since the beginning, HPE has advanced the way people live and work by creating innovative technology at the heart of successful organizations and communities all over the world. We invite you inside our careers and culture through stories of the people who power HPE—our team members.

Meet Shwetha Varsha, Senior Technical Marketing Engineer, who collaborates across functions to ensure HPE delivers integrated customer solutions globally to customers and partners.

Shwetha's HPE career journey

Shwetha joined HPE as a Quality, performance, testing, and automation engineer focused on research and development. Over the years, she acquired experience in datapath testing and automation for a data protection solution which offered unique insights into customer environments and perspectives. She is able to put those skills together as a Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) focused on building demos, hands-on labs, and proof-of-concepts for solutions. Now as a Senior TME, she leads enablement for HPE’s hyperconverged product.

Team member straight talk

Q: What gets you most excited about your work?
A:  I absolutely love the thrill of creatively tackling problems and working closely with awesome teammates. Being able to guide and support others is incredibly rewarding for me. The ever-evolving tech scene keeps me on my toes with constant learning. My fantastic manager and leadership make our team feel like a tight-knit, fun community where collaboration is the key to achieving everyone's individual goals. Looking ahead, I'm genuinely excited about the future of technology, especially as we play a crucial role in enabling our hybrid cloud strategy. This involves working closely with customers, shaping the roadmap, and delivering products and solutions to our amazing customers and partners.

Q: How do you redefine what’s next in your career?
A: In redefining what's next for my career, I embrace the core belief of "thinking like a customer" and strive to overcome challenges by continuously improving. Given HPE's current focus on leveraging technology for generative AI, I envision contributing innovative ideas that align with our key initiatives, such as a unified platform and user experience. I want to create an experience based on the user, integrating social and emotional skills with AI capabilities, enabling and inspiring others to achieve their goals.

Q: What is one piece of advice you would give to someone interested in your field?
A: My advice would be to immerse yourself in a customer's perspective and prioritize simplicity in your approach. When you wear your customers' hat, you gain valuable insights into their needs and expectations, allowing you to craft more effective solutions. In the grand scheme of things, it's essential to continually address challenges, learn from them, and share those insights with your peers. By simplifying complex concepts, you not only enhance your own understanding but also empower others in the field. So, my key advice is to keep solving problems, stay customer-focused, and share your learnings to contribute to the collective growth of the community.
