Saad Zaher, a lifelong learner who loves challenges and constant change, found his calling as Innovation Development Team Lead for Hybrid Cloud technologies.   

Saad’s HPE career journey 

Based in Galway, Ireland, Saad Zaher began his career as a Systems/Software Engineer contributing to OpenStack. He attained a Master of Sciences in Artificial Intelligence. Together, he leveraged this knowledge and experience to take on a technical position at HPE. His curious nature and love of learning led him to work with cloud technologies and eight years later, Saad serves as Innovation Development Team lead within the Hybrid Cloud business unit.

Q: What do you do as the Innovation Development Team Lead? 
A: I work within our Hybrid Cloud business unit to create new opportunities for HPE by continually developing new ideas and then creating a prototype of how the idea would function to solve a customer need. If we’re able to validate the idea as a working solution, we will build a minimum viable product and pass it to an engineering scrum team to enrich it with more features and operate it in production. 

Q: How do you redefine what’s next in your career?   
A: The only constant is change! Progress and innovation across multiple technology fields offer endless possibilities for the future of work and that keeps me excited. To be ready to advance in my career, I recognize the importance of staying up to date with the latest technological advancements, especially those that align with the company’s vision. It’s also crucial that I’m adaptable and continuously learn to help maintain a competitive edge for the company and my career.   

Q: What piece of advice would you give to someone interested in your field? 
A: Learn something new every day. Whether a new skill, what’s happening in the industry, or what the competition is doing. Apply what you learn and don’t be afraid to take a risk. Learn from successes and failures so you can evolve.
