How to deploy and manage HPE Solutions for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI
Formerly known as Windows Server Software-defined (WSSD) program, Azure Stack HCI is a hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solution validation program from Microsoft. The validation is available for on-premises solutions based on the Storage Spaces Direct and Hyper-V roles in Windows Server 2019 Datacenter. HPE Solutions for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI bring together software-defined compute, storage, and networking on industry-standard HPE ProLiant, Apollo, and Synergy servers and components to create highly available, highly scalable, software-defined storage at a fraction of the cost of traditional SAN or NAS arrays.
The core of the solution includes the Azure Stack HCI operating system, Windows Admin Center (WAC) and Azure services, so customers can extend to the Microsoft Azure cloud quickly and easily with simplified access to cloud management and security servers for off-site backup, site recovery, file synchronization, update management, monitoring, and more.
These solutions are ideal for customers with a variety of goals, such as:
- IT modernization and consolidation
- Extending modern IT to remote and branch offices
- Enhancing the performance of virtualized workloads
- Gaining cloud efficiencies on premises
Even better, because HPE participates in the Azure Stack HCI program, our customers can get the peace of mind of solution stacks that have been carefully sized and tested by HPE and fully validated by Microsoft. Our wide selection of ready-to-go, validated solution configurations are also incredibly easy to deploy, scale, and manage.
At a recent Microsoft Ignite session, Maxime Lotte, HPE solution architect, demonstrated just how easy it is to install Microsoft Azure Stack on HPE platforms and how easy it is to manage the solutions from the Windows Admin Center (WAC) with HPE extensions. He captured the presentation on video, so you can watch it and share it with your customers.
