HPE and Red Hat: Celebrating 20 Years of Partnership

The 1990s were a revolutionary decade for technology. Exponentially-increasing computing needs and rapid expansion in mobile communications made it stand out in the digital age.

It makes sense then that the end of the decade of innovation also marked the beginning of a partnership between two IT leaders that would go on to stand the test of time. This year, Red Hat and HPE celebrate 20 years of trusted partnership. Our collaborative, enterprise-ready solutions span both virtual and physical environments, providing customers with a trusted solution, from Edge to Cloud.

Strengthening IT infrastructure, bolstering open source adoption, and reducing cost and complexity with integrated solutions designed for leading IT organizations was their ultimate goal. If their shared customer base is anything to go by, they did it. Together, Red Hat and HPE represent innovation in open source enterprise IT solutions and provide the fuel to power thousands of successful digital transformation projects around the world. It’s a partnership that works so well that HPE awarded Red Hat as Technology Partner of the Year 2019 for Hybrid Cloud solutions.

Customers also benefit from the depth and breadth of the partnership as it spans various market verticals. In the Telco market for example, CSPs look to HPE and Red Hat to help drive digital transformation with NFV and 5G solutions powered by HPE servers and Red Hat OpenStack® Platform. Leveraging the HPE Open RAN Solution Stack, the two companies recently completed a successful test case using an IoT-powered robot to showcase 5G network slicing. It will enable telecom service providers to split bandwidth out between different use cases, potentially enabling carriers to offer dedicated device feeds and enabling them to diversify their offers to customers who need a specific type of connection.
