NEW: HPE ProLiant with Windows Server 2022 security training video
Companies of all types and sizes continue to suffer major data breaches, keeping data security top of mind. And as more businesses extend critical workloads across clouds and out to the edge, the attack surface only widens. Thatโs why Microsoft and HPE are working together to incorporate advanced security features to keep data safe from endpoint to edge, using Windows Server 2022 running on HPE ProLiant servers.
With the announcement of Windows Server 2022 from Microsoft, this short training video provides a great introduction to this new product, its features, and reasons for converting. Check it out!
As an incredibly popular operating system (OS), Windows Server has long bridged the gap between on-premises and cloud, providing developers and IT pros with an application platform that allows them to build and deploy diverse applications quickly. With the new release of Windows Server 2022, Microsoft is extending security from the endpoint to the cloud and out to the edge, with the Windows Server 2022 Secured Core Server program, which combines secure hardware, firmware, and OS features to help protect servers against advanced threats.
HPE has invested heavily in enabling a large range of ProLiant Gen10 and Gen10 Plus servers for the Secured Core deployment option. HPE Secured Core servers use a combination of hardware features, firmware enablement, and Windows Server OS capabilities to provide protection against current and future malware and rootkit types of security exploits.
As the world's most secure industry standard servers, HPE ProLiant Gen10 and Gen10 Plus are the perfect partner for the Windows Server 2022 security focus. For example, HPE is the only vendor leveraging silicon root of trust, which creates a digital fingerprint in the silicon that verifies firmware code is valid and uncompromised. Secure Boot adds to the peace of mind by ensuring that any drivers launched during the boot process and the OS boot lander are digitally signed and validated against the set of trusted certificates securely stored by the BIOS. In addition, these servers boot up Windows Server 2022 securely using Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 and System Guard to minimize risk from firmware vulnerabilities.
HPE also provides another exclusive technology, called Runtime Firmware Verification Protection. It can conduct daily checks of the serverโs essential firmware and restore HPE iLO capabilities if compromised code or malware is detected in critical firmware. Plus, in the event of a ransomware attack or other breach, IT can securely restore up to 10,000 servers with a single click, automatically or manually recovering the server's essential firmware, firmware configuration settings, OS, and host environments. HPE ProLiant Secured Core servers also include virtualization-based security features like Credential Guard and Hypervisor Protected Code Integrity.
