Bladesystem C7000 Gen2 all components firmware upgrade

I have a C7000 Gen 2 with the below items. I need a detailed step by step firmware upgrade procedure of all components plus the Onboard Administrator, knowing that the servers have ESXI 6.5 and we need to do firmware upgrade for ESXI 7.0 u3.

The system is in production and need to do it with no or minimum disruptions

Thank you

Re: Bladesystem C7000 Gen2 all components firmware upgrade

Hello,

When you are talking about firmwware upgardation on a C7000 with out any impact to production, there are many thing that you will have to consider.

Such as : Is the VC configured as Active - Active config or Active - Standby config.
Is there any Bonding configured on the OS? If yes, is it NFT or NLB.
Are these hosts configured as cluster. etc etc.......

We would suggest you to first update the OA, then the VC Modules and  blades at last.

Please note: you will have to update the SPP in an incremental way if you have older version of the SPP.

Please refer to the below Compatibility matrix.
