The way around it would be to create two 2TB logical drives and then use your OS or some third party software to "pool" them or create 1 big volume.
This can be done with Windows OS (and others) generically, or you can use various products like HP Openview Virtual Replicator or Veritas/Symantec Storage Foundations Suite with Volume Replicator, etc.

This is where I saw it. It seems to imply greater than 2TB ability. Though 'storage' could mean 4TB to 8TB via 2 or 4 2TB partitions.

A1. The Smart Array 6400 controller has been enhanced to provide support of up to 2 TB RAID volumes under some operating systems including Windows 2000. It is possible to configure a 2-channel controller with a maximum of twenty-eight 146 GB hard disk drives for a total of 4TB of storage.
Q2. What is the primary problem solved by Recovery ROM?
A2. The Smart Array 6400 controller has been enhanced to provide support of up to 2 TB RAID volumes under some operating systems including Windows 2000. It is possible to configure a 2-channel controller with a maximum of 28 hard disk drives for a total of 4TB of storage (28Ã 146 GB) and a 4-channel controller with a maximum of 56 hard disk drives for a total of 8TB of storage (28Ã 146 GB).

Up to 4TB or 8TB with a maximum of 2TB per lun (2 for 4TB and 4 for 8TB).
The controler itself will not allow you to create anything larger than 2TB.
