False error on drive array
I have had this issue 4 times in the last 3 weeks with two types of servers a 5500 and a ML570.
Server reported a drive array failure on slot 4 bus 2 drive 1 and also reported a controller failure on the same controller through insight manager 4.9.
Arrived at server and noticed that the array was still accessible through the array configuration utility NT itself this eliminating a true cable problem error. I had noticed that the array was showing a bad drive so I replaced the drive and restarted the Compaq insight agents. This brought the array back from a reduced state but the agent still reported a slot in a error condition. This was the same slot that the smart controller was in and also the agents stopped reporting status of the array after the agents were restarted. After I reboot the server everything shows green. The agents are 4.9 and SSD levels are at 2.22. I need to know if anyone has seen this issue before and what is causing it.
