Re: C8xx Error on Lh3

There was an error state on a drive ID 1 located on the first controller.

Looking at your server, you can determine which of your controllers is the first to boot and then you identify the drive with SCSI ID 1.

Did you get any other state change messages? Check your server logs.
Enjoy!

Re: C8xx Error on Lh3

This means id 1 drive is not ready. The is comunicating properly but it hasn't spun up yet. Id 1 is the far left drive on the LC3.

I have seen this problem before when the power connector on the backplane is not properly seated.

The System on the Server ist SCO Unix! In the Server Log is the same message!

@Brian: Can I say the problem is a hardware problem???

Thank you!!!!!!!

Re: C8xx Error on Lh3

Yes, it is a hardware problem, either with power, backplane or hard drive. I would make sure that the drive is spinning up properly. If it isn't I would look at power first. If it is spinning, I would question the reliability of the hard drive.

The issue isn't with the SCSI controller or the SCSI cable.
