Don’t Miss Demo: HPE OEM Healthcare Solutions with Lunit AI at HPE Discover

Did you miss out on our Lunit demo at HPE Discover Virtual Experience? Don't worry! We are here to share some interesting highlights of the demo that went LIVE at our virtual event. Hosted by U-Jin Kim, the Director at HPE OEM Business (APJ), the demo introduced the revolutionary Lunit INSIGHT CXR software, developed to detect signs of coronavirus-based pneumonia. The demo video featured Minhong Jang, the Co-founder, CBO at Lunit Inc. who gave us a walkthrough of this effective Covid-19 tool. Lunit, a South Korean startup and an HPE OEM partner, released this special version of its chest X-ray diagnostic software to enable better management of coronavirus cases, and improved assistance in patient triage and monitoring.

Ever since Coronavirus was declared a pandemic, scientists, and medical experts across the globe have been racing to find a cure for the disease. Jang explained how the team at Lunit found an opportunity to adapt its existing chest imagery AI to detect evidence of Covid-19 based pneumonia. At the virtual demo, he presented a chest x-ray analysis of a Covid-19 patient that detected different radiologic findings including lung nodule and consolidation, with up to 99 percent accuracy. Highlighting the existing challenges of the RT-PCR test in many countries, Jang said that Lunit's chest X-ray diagnostic software "takes less than 30 minutes before the clinicians have enough information to make an initial judgement" of the suspected patient, which makes a huge difference in diagnosis.

Jang also acknowledged HPE OEM's role in helping Lunit scale its revolutionary technology to the world at a rapid pace. “With global technical support from HPE Pointnext, customers have more confidence working with Lunit knowing we can provide hardware service through HPE anywhere in the world", he said. HPE OEM Solutions not only provides standardized configurations to accelerate solution delivery, but also streamlines installation of Lunit’s intellectual property. The demo further described how this collaboration helps physicians pinpoint the location of malignant tumors on patient medical images, and uncover new insights in data. Therefore, diagnosis happens more strategically with a better and more advanced plan of action for the treatment.
